Alongside my colleagues from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Hospitality and Tourism, I have signed an open letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, calling on him to take into account the difficulties faced by the hospitality and tourism industries in this pandemic and to implement measures to support these industries further in the upcoming Budget.

My colleagues and I called on the Chancellor to

• extend the VAT cut to 5% on food and soft drinks for another 12 months and to extend this to the broad hospitality industry;
• guarantee a further 100% holiday on business rates for all sector businesses across the UK, covering the next financial year.
