Today I was delighted to visit the pilot Cambuslang BankHUB on its official launch day.

The BankHUB applies an innovative new approach to broadening community access to cash with in-situ community banking assistants who are able to have one-on-one sessions with customers on a rotational basis (Royal Bank of Scotland on Monday, Santander on Tuesday, Virgin Money on Wednesday, Bank of Scotland on Thursday, TSB on Friday), and a counter service offering full basic banking services for the customers of virtually all banks, run by the Post Office.

Please do not hesitate to visit the BankHUB and avail yourself of its services – for it to become a permanent rather than pilot scheme, and for our community in Rutherglen and Hamilton West to continue to be able to benefit from this fantastic initiative, it must be clearly seen by key stakeholders that there is substantial demand for the continuity of the scheme. For the time being, the pilot will continue to run until October 2021.
