Yesterday I had the honour of participating in the debate on the Second Reading of the Building Safety Bill, which is the culmination of a nearly half-decade long process of reviewing building regulations across the nations of the UK in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire. I sought to highlight several areas, in particular pertaining to regulation of construction products, where the bill goes insufficiently far.
