Yesterday I was grateful to be able press the UK Government on urgent policy decisions.
The Secretary of State for Transport answered an Urgent Question on the current HGV driver shortages and his department’s plans to address them. I used this opportunity to ask him what steps his department is taking to make HGV jobs more attractive to a more diverse candidate pool, such as women and BAME drivers.

We then heard the Home Office Minister for Afghanistan give a statement on the UK Government’s latest position on the Afghanistan crisis. I sought to use the opportunity to again raise the cases of my own constituents and press her on the criteria being used to assess the vulnerability of applicants to the Afghan Citizen Resettlement Scheme.
