World Sight Day 2021, coordinated by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), aims to raise awareness of blindness and vision impairment as a major global public health and development issue.

This year, the theme of #LoveYourEyes encourages everyone to think about their own eye health and if possible, to get a sight test or an exam.

Joining millions around the world I have pledged to get my eyes tested and I am encouraging as many people in Rutherglen and Hamilton West to do the same.

For the month leading up to World Sight Day IAPB is campaigning to get over 1 million eye tests pledged and has asked individuals, eye care professionals, hospitals, NGOs and businesses to get involved because everyone counts. You can pledge your eye sight test here.
