I was honoured to have the opportunity to intervene in two debates in Westminster Hall, on topics that impact on many people across the UK.
In the debate on Post Office closures, I highlighted the excellent Post Office BankHub initiative in Cambuslang, and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury’s recent visit. You can read a transcript of my intervention in Hansard, or watch it on ParliamentTV.
I also attended the debate on the future of UK high streets. I intervened to highlight the significant move from retailers away from physical shop presence, to an online model. I asked whether the sponsoring Member, Janet Daby MP, would agree that the Government needs to incentivise retailers having a high street presence.
