Another busy week in Westminster, with the Foreign Secretary providing an update to the House on the situation in Ukraine, and her proposed sanctions on Russia. I asked her what impact she thinks an invasion would have on our food supply chains, as Ukraine has become one of the UK’s main suppliers of cereal and grain products. On Tuesday morning my Private Members Bill, the Pension Schemes (Conversion of Guaranteed Minimum Pensions) had its Committee Stage. It passed through with resounding support, and I am grateful to all colleagues on the Committee who helped us secure its passage through to remaining stages, which have been scheduled to take place on Friday 25th February. At Scotland Office Questions, I asked what plans the Government has to extend Holyrood’s legislative powers, highlighting a vote the night before on the Elections ID Bill, where measures were rejected by the Scottish Parliament.
